Go to a car dealership or bank, or real estate presentation centre, and you are still going to see a lot of printed material being pushed at and happily received by customers. You can squint at car specs on your 5.5-inch phone screen, or leaf through the more expansive information in a printed piece.
That’s why I kinda like this very simple but functional digital totem display I spied in a marketing email sent out by Shuangli-based manufacturer and fabricator media mea. It’s a portrait floor display, like many, many others out there. But it has built-in brochure sleeves.
The unit has a 22-inch LG display and a bunch of stacked slots below that screen to stock brochures and other marketing materials. There is probably some other manufacturer out there doing something similar, but this is the first I’ve seen. It’s not a product that’s going to generate a lot of oohs and aahs, but in the right situations, it makes a lot of functional sense.
The unit has a beautiful face and the enclosure can be color-keyed and custom-branded, which is also going to make sense in places like a car dealer showroom.
